- Kapitel 29 -

Moreouer Dauid the King sayde vnto all the Congregation, God hath chosen Salomon mine onely sonne yong and tender, and the worke is great: for this house is not for man, but for the Lord God.

Now I haue prepared with all my power for the house of my God, golde for vessels of golde, and siluer for them of siluer, and brasse for things of brasse, yron for things of yron, and wood for things of wood, and onix stones, and stones to be set, and carbuncle stones and of diuers colours, and all precious stones, and marble stones in aboundance.

Moreouer, because I haue delite in the house of my God, I haue of mine owne golde and siluer, which I haue giuen to the house of my God, beside all that I haue prepared for the house of the Sanctuarie,

Euen three thousand talents of gold of the golde of Ophir, and seuen thousand talents of fined siluer to ouerlay the walles of the houses.

The golde for the things of golde, and the siluer for things of siluer, and for all the worke by the handes of artificers: and who is willing to fill his hand to day vnto the Lord?

So the princes of the families, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captaines of thousands and of hundreths, with the rulers of the Kings worke, offred willingly,

And they gaue for the seruice of the house of God fiue thousande talents of golde, and ten thousand pieces, and ten thousand talents of siluer, and eighteene thousand talents of brasse, and one hundreth thousand talents of yron.

And they with whom precious stones were found, gaue them to the treasure of ye house of the Lord, by the hand of Iehiel the Gershunnite.

And the people reioyced when they offred willingly: for they offred willingly vnto ye Lord, with a perfite heart. And Dauid the King also reioyced with great ioy.

David’s Prayer of Blessing

Therefore Dauid blessed the Lord before all the Congregation, and Dauid sayde, Blessed be thou, O Lord God, of Israel our father, for euer and euer.

Thine, O Lord, is greatnesse and power, and glory, and victorie and praise: for all that is in heauen and in earth is thine: thine is the kingdome, O Lord, and thou excellest as head ouer all.

Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest ouer all, and in thine hand is power and strength, and in thine hande it is to make great, and to giue strength vnto all.

Now therefore our God, we thanke thee, and prayse thy glorious Name.

But who am I, and what is my people, that we shoulde be able to offer willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee: and of thine owne hand we haue giuen thee.

For we are stragers before thee, and soiourners, like all our fathers: our dayes are like ye shadowe vpon the earth, and there is none abiding.

O Lord our God, all this abundance that we haue prepared to buylde thee an house for thine holy Name, is of thine hand and all is thine.

I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy.

O Lord God of Abraham, Izhak and Israel our fathers, keepe this for euer in the purpose, and the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their hearts vnto thee.

And giue vnto Salomon my sonne a perfit heart to keepe thy commandements, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to doe all things, and to builde the house which I haue prepared.

And Dauid said to all the Congregation, Now blesse the Lord your God. And all the Congregation blessed the Lord God of their fathers, and bowed downe their heads, and worshipped the Lord and the King.

Solomon Anointed King

(1 Kings 1:32–40)

And they offred sacrifices vnto the Lord, and on the morowe after that day, they offered burnt offrings vnto the Lord, euen a thousande yong bullocks, a thousand rammes and a thousand sheepe, with their drinke offrings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.

And they did eate and drinke before the Lord the same day with great ioy, and they made Salomon the sonne of Dauid King the seconde time, and anoynted him prince before the Lord, and Zadok for the hie Priest.

So Salomon sate on the throne of the Lord, as King in steade of Dauid his father, and prospered: and all Israel obeyed him.

And all the princes and men of power, and all the sonnes of King Dauid submitted them selues vnder King Salomon.

And the Lord magnified Salomon in dignitie, in the sight of all Israel, and gaue him so glorious a kingdome, as no King had before him in Israel.

David’s Reign and Death

(1 Kings 2:10–12)

Thus Dauid the sonne of Ishai reigned ouer all Israel.

And the space that he reigned ouer Israel, was fourtie yeere: seuen yeere reigned he in Hebron, and three and thirtie yeere reigned he in Ierusalem:

And he dyed in a good age, full of dayes, riches and honour, and Salomon his sonne reigned in his steade.

Concerning the actes of Dauid the King first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of Samuel the Seer, and in the booke of Nathan the Prophet, and in the booke of Gad the Seer,

With all his reigne and his power, and times that went ouer him, and ouer Israel and ouer all the kingdomes of the earth.

Opfergaben für den Bau des Tempels

Alsdann sprach der König David zu allen Versammelten: Mein Sohn Salomon, den Gott allein erwählt hat, ist noch jung und zart; aber das Werk ist groß, denn nicht für einen Menschen wird eine Wohnung bereitet, sondern für Gott.

Ich habe aus allen meinen Kräften für das Haus meines Gottes vorbereitet: das Gold zu den goldenen Gefäßen, das Silber zu den Silbernen, das Erz zu den ehernen, das Eisen zu den eisernen, das Holz zu den hölzernen, dazu Onyx-Steine und Spießglanz gleiche und bunte Steine und allerlei andere kostbare Steine und parischen Marmor in Menge.

Und zu allem, was ich für das Haus meines Gottes von meinem Eigentum an Gold und Silber dargebracht habe, gebe ich noch für den Tempel meines Gottes, außer dem, was ich für das heilige Haus bereitet habe,

Dreitausend Talente Gold von dem Golde aus Ophir und siebentausend Talente gediegenen Silbers, um die Wände des Tempels damit zu bekleiden;

und jede Arbeit, wo Gold vonnöten, soll von Gold, und wo Silber vonnöten, von Silber durch die Hände der Künstler gemacht werden. Will nun jemand eine freiwillige Gabe darbringen, so fülle er heute seine Hand und bringe dem Herrn dar, was er will.

Da gelobten die Fürsten der Geschlechter und die Obersten der Stämme Israels, auch die Obersten und Hauptleute und die Verwalter der Güter des Königs,

und spendeten zu der Arbeit des Hauses Gottes fünftausend Talente Gold, zehntausend Goldstücke, zehntausend Talente Silber, achtzehntausend Talente Erz, dazu hunderttausend Talente Eisen.

Und wer bei sich Steine fand, gab sie für den Schatz des Hauses des Herrn zu Händen Jahiels, des Gersoniters.

Da freute sich das Volk, als jene aus freien Stücken ihre Verheißungen machten, denn von ganzem Herzen brachten sie dieselben dem Herrn dar; aber auch der König David freute sich sehr.

Davids Lobpreis an Gott

Und er pries den Herrn vor der ganzen Versammlung und sprach: Gepriesen bist du Herr, Gott Israels, unseres Vaters, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit!

Dein, o Herr! ist die Herrlichkeit und die Macht und der Ruhm und der Sieg, und dir gebührt das Lob! Denn alles, was im Himmel und auf Erden ist, ist dein; dein, o Herr! ist die Herrschaft und du bist erhaben über alle Fürsten.

Dein ist der Reichtum und dein ist die Ehre; du herrschest über alles, in deiner Hand ist Kraft und Macht; in deiner Hand ist Größe und Herrschaft über alles.

Darum, unser Gott! preisen wir dich und loben deinen herrlichen Namen.

Denn wer bin ich und wer ist mein Volk, dass wir dir dies alles sollen verheißen können? Dein ist alles und was wir aus deiner Hand empfangen haben, das haben wir dir gegeben.

Denn wir sind Fremdlinge vor dir und Ankömmlinge wie alle unsere Väter. Unsere Tage auf Erden sind wie ein Schatten und es ist kein Bleiben.

Herr, unser Gott! all diese Fülle, die wir bereitet haben, um deinem heiligen Namen ein Haus zu bauen, aus deiner Hand kommt sie und dein ist alles.

Ich weiß, mein Gott! dass du die Herzen prüfst und die Lauterkeit liebst; darum habe ich auch in der Lauterkeit meines Herzens freudig dies alles dargebracht und mit großer Freude gesehen, wie dein Volk dir seine Gaben darbrachte.

Herr, du Gott unserer Väter Abraham, Isaak und Israel, bewahre auf ewig diesen Willen ihres Herzens und lass diese Gesinnung zu deiner Verehrung immerdar währen!

Auch meinen Sohn Salomon, gib ein vollkommenes Herz, deine Gebote, deine Zeugnisse und deine Satzungen zu bewahren und alles zu erfüllen und das Haus zu bauen, für das ich alles vorbereitet habe.

Und David gebot der ganzen Versammlung: Preiset den Herrn, unsern Gott! Da pries die ganze Versammlung den Herrn, den Gott ihrer Väter, und sie verneigten sich und warfen sich vor Gott nieder und huldigten dann dem Könige.

Salomo wird zum König gesalbt

(1. Könige 1,32-40)

Und sie schlachteten dem Herrn Opfer und brachten am folgenden Tage Brandopfer dar, tausend Stiere, tausend Widder, tausend Schafe, samt den Trankopfern dazu, nach aller Vorschrift, in großer Menge, für ganz Israel.

Und sie aßen und tranken an diesem Tage vor dem Herrn mit großer Freude. Auch salbten sie Salomon, den Sohn Davids zum zweiten Mal und salbten ihn dem Herrn als Fürsten und Sadok zum Priester.

Und Salomon setzte sich auf den Thron des Herrn als König an seines Vaters David Statt und er fand bei allen Wohlgefallen und ganz Israel gehorchte ihm.

Aber alle Fürsten und Gewaltigen und alle Söhne des Königs David gaben ihm die Hand und unterwarfen sich dem Könige Salomon.

Der Herr erhöhte Salomon über ganz Israel und gab ihm eine Herrlichkeit der Herrschaft, wie solche kein König von Israel vor ihm gehabt.

Das Ende von Davids Regierungszeit

(1. Könige 2,10-12)

So herrschte David, der Sohn Isais, über ganz Israel.

Die Zeit, durch welche er über Israel herrschte, war vierzig Jahre; in Hebron herrschte er sieben Jahre und in Jerusalem dreiunddreißig Jahre.

Und er starb im glücklichen Alter, hochbetagt, in Reichtum und Ehren, und sein Sohn Salomon ward König an seiner Statt.

Des Königs David Taten aber, die früheren wie die späteren, sind geschrieben im Buche Samuels, des Sehers, und im Buche Nathans, des Propheten, und im Buche Gads, des Sehers,

ebenso seine ganze Regierung, wie seine Macht und die Zeitläufte, die unter ihm, sowohl über Israel wie über alle Reiche der Erde dahingingen.
