- Kapitel 39 -

Therefore, thou sonne of man, prophecie against Gog, and say, Thus sayeth the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Gog, ye chiefe prince of Meshech and Tubal.

And I will destroy thee and leaue but the sixt part of thee, and will cause thee to come vp from the North partes and will bring thee vpon the mountaines of Israel:

And I will smite thy bowe out of thy left hand, and I will cause thine arrowes to fall out of thy right hand.

Thou shalt fal vpon the mountaines of Israel, and all thy bands and the people, that is with thee: for I will giue thee vnto the birdes and to euery feathered foule and beast of the fielde to be deuoured.

Thou shalt fall vpon the open fielde: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.

And I will sende a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell safely in the yles, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord.

So will I make mine holy Name knowen in the middes of my people Israel, and I will not suffer them to pollute mine holy Name any more, and the heathen shall knowe that I am the Lord, the holy one of Israel.

Beholde, it is come, and it is done, sayeth the Lord God: and this is the day whereof I haue spoken.

And they that dwell in the cities of Israel, shall goe forth, and shall burne and set fire vpon the weapons, and on the shieldes, and bucklers, vpon the bowes, and vpon the arrowes, and vpon the staues in their handes, and vpon the speares, and they shall burne them with fire seuen yeeres.

So that they shall bring no wood out of the fielde, neither cut downe any out of the forestes: for they shall burne the weapons with fire, and they shall robbe those that robbed them, and spoyle those that spoyled them, sayeth the Lord God.

And at the same time will I giue vnto Gog a place there for burial in Israel, euen the valley whereby men go towarde the East part of the sea: and it shall cause them that passe by, to stoppe their noses, and there shall they bury Gog with all his multitude: and they shall call it the valley of Hamon-Gog.

And seuen moneths long shall the house of Israel be burying of the, that they may clense the land.

Yea, all the people of the lande shall burie them, and they shall haue a name when I shall be glorified, saith the Lord God.

And they shall chuse out men to goe continually through the lande with them that trauaile, to bury those that remaine vpon ye ground, and clense it: they shall search to the ende of seuen moneths.

And the trauailers that passe through the land, if any see a mans bone, then shall he set vp a signe by it, till the buriers haue buried it, in the valley of Hamon-Gog.

And also the name of the citie shalbe Hamonah: thus shall they clense the land.

And thou sonne of man, thus sayeth the Lord God, Speake vnto euery feathered foule, and to all the beastes of the fielde, Assemble your selues, and come gather your selues on euery side to my sacrifice: for I do sacrifice a great sacrifice for you vpon the mountaines of Israel, that ye may eate flesh, and drinke blood.

Ye shall eate the flesh of the valiant, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of the weathers, of the lambes, and of the goates, and of bullockes, euen of all fat beastes of Bashan.

And ye shall eate fat till you be full, and drinke blood, till ye be drunken of my sacrifice, which I haue sacrificed for you.

Thus you shalbe filled at my table with horses and chariots, with valiant men, and with al men of warre, sayth the Lord God.

Israel to Be Restored

And I wil set my glory among the heathe, and all the heathen shall see my iudgement, that I haue executed, and mine hand, which I haue layed vpon them.

So the house of Israel shall knowe, that I am the Lord their God from that day and so forth.

And the heathen shall knowe, that ye house of Israel went into captiuitie for their iniquitie, because they trespassed against me: therefore hid I my face from them, and gaue them into ye hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

According to their vncleannes, and according to their transgressions haue I done vnto the, and hid my face from them.

Therefore thus sayth the Lord God, Nowe will I bring againe the captiuitie of Iaakob, and haue compassion vpon the whole house of Israel, and wil be ielous for mine holy Name,

After that they haue borne their shame, and all their transgression, whereby they haue transgressed against me, whe they dwelt safely in their land, and without feare of any.

When I haue brought them againe from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies landes, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations,

Then shall they know, that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captiuitie among the heathen: but I haue gathered them vnto their owne land, and haue left none of them any more there,

Neither wil I hide my face any more from them: for I haue powred out my Spirit vpon the house of Israel, sayth the Lord God.

Gogs Armeen werden vernichtet

Du aber, o Menschensohn! weissage wider Gog und sprich: So spricht der Herr, Gott: Siehe, ich will an dich, Gog! Du oberster Fürst von Mosoch und Thubal,

und ich will dich umhertreiben und dich hinwegführen und herkommen lassen von ferner Mitternacht her und dich herbeiführen auf die Berge Israels.

Ich werde deinen Bogen in deiner linken Hand zerschlagen und deine Pfeile aus deiner rechten Hand fallen lassen.

Auf den Bergen Israels wirst du fallen und alle deine Kriegsscharen und deine Völker, die bei dir sind; den wilden Tieren, den Vögeln, allem, was fleugt, und den Tieren des Feldes gebe ich dich zum Fraße preis.

Auf offenem Felde wirst du hinfallen, denn ich habe es gesprochen, spricht der Herr, Gott.

Auch werde ich Feuer über Magog entsenden und über die sorglosen Inselbewohner und sie sollen erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin.

Und ich will meinen heiligen Namen kund werden lassen inmitten meines Volkes Israel und will meinen heiligen Namen nicht länger entweihen lassen und die Völker sollen erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin, der Heilige Israels.

Siehe, es wird eintreffen und geschehen, spricht der Herr, Gott; dies ist der Tag, von dem ich gesprochen habe.

Da werden die Bewohner aus den Städten Israels herausgehen und werden die Waffen anzünden und verbrennen, Schild und Spieß, Bogen und Pfeile, Handstäbe und Stangen, und werden sieben Jahre lang dran zu brennen haben.

Sie werden kein Holz vom Felde holen noch in den Wäldern fällen, denn mit den Waffen werden sie Feuer machen und werden die berauben, von denen sie beraubt wurden, und plündern, die sie plünderten, spricht der Herr, Gott.

Das Begräbnis von Gog

An jenem Tage werde ich Gog einen berühmten Ort als Grab in Israel bestimmen, das Tal der Wanderer morgenwärts vom Meere, das die, welche vorübergehen, staunen machen wird; daselbst wird man Gog und seinen ganzen Heerhaufen begraben, und das Tal wird man Tal des Heerhaufens Gogs nennen.

Und das ganze Haus Israel wird sie begraben, damit das Land davon rein werde, sieben Monate hindurch.

Das ganze Volk des Landes wird ihn begraben und der Tag, an dem ich mich herrlich erweise, wird für sie in Ruhmestag werden, spricht der Herr, Gott.

Und man wird Männer bestellen, die fortan beständig das Land durchziehen sollen, um jene aufzusuchen und zu begraben, welche auf dem Erdboden liegen geblieben sind, um das Land zu reinigen; nach Ablauf von sieben Monaten aber wird die Nachforschung beginnen.

Wenn sie, das ganze Land ringsum durchziehend, ein Menschengebein sehen, so werden sie dabei ein Merkzeichen aufrichten, bis die Totengräber es im Tale des Heerhaufens Gogs begraben.

Die Stadt aber wird Amona genannt werden, und so werden sie das Land reinigen.

Ein triumphales Fest

Du also, o Menschensohn! so spricht er Herr, Gott: Sprich zu allem, was geflügelt ist, zu allen Vögeln und allen Tieren des Feldes: Sammelt euch, eilet, scharet euch von allen Seiten zu meinem Schlachtopfer zusammen, das ich euch anrichte zu einem großen Schlachtopfer auf den Bergen Israels, dass ihr Fleisch fresset und Blut trinket!

Das Fleisch von Helden sollt ihr fressen und das Blut von Fürsten des Landes trinken, von Widdern, Lämmern, Böcken und Stieren, alle wohlgenährt und fett.

Und ihr sollt Fett fressen bis zur Sättigung und Blut trinken bis zur Berauschung von dem Opfer, das ich euch schlachten werde.

Und ihr sollt euch an meinem Tische ersättigen, an Rossen und starken Reitern und Kriegsleuten aller Art, spricht der Herr, Gott.

Israel erhält das Land zurück

So werde ich meine Herrlichkeit an den Völkern erweisen und alle Völker sollen mein Gericht sehen, das ich vollstrecke, und meine Hand, die ich an sie lege.

Das Haus Israel aber wird erkennen, dass ich der Herr, ihr Gott bin, von jenem Tage an und hinfort.

Und die Völker werden erkennen, dass das Haus Israel seiner Sünden wegen gefangen weggeführt worden ist, dafür, dass sie mich verlassen hatten, und dass ich darum mein Angesicht vor ihnen verbarg und sie dahingab in die Hand ihrer Feinde, so dass sie alle durch das Schwert fielen.

Ihrer Befleckung und ihren Vergehungen gemäß habe ich ihnen getan und habe mein Angesicht vor ihnen verborgen.

Darum spricht der Herr, Gott, also: Nun werde ich die Gefangenen Jakobs heimkehren lassen und mich des ganzen Hauses Israel erbarmen und eisern für meinen heiligen Namen.

Schwer soll auf ihnen ihre Schmach und alle Treulosigkeit lasten, die sie wider mich begangen haben, wenn sie in ihrem Lande wieder sicher wohnen werden, ohne jemand fürchten zu müssen,

und wenn ich sie zurückgeführt habe aus den Völkern und gesammelt aus den Ländern ihrer Feinde und mich heilig erwiesen an ihnen vor den Augen der vielen Völker.

Dann sollen sie erkennen, dass ich der Herr, ihr Gott bin, da ich sie zwar unter die Völker gefangen fortgeführt, aber sie wieder in ihr Land gesammelt habe, ohne einen von ihnen daselbst zurückzulassen.

Und ich will fortan mein Angesicht nicht vor ihnen verbergen, denn ich habe meinen Geist ausgegossen über das ganze Haus Israel, spricht der Herr, Gott.
