- Kapitel 27 -

In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah came this worde vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,

Thus saith the Lord to me, Make thee bonds, and yokes, and put them vpon thy necke,

And send them to the King of Edom, and to the King of Moab, and to the King of the Ammonites, and to the King of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hande of the messengers which come to Ierusale vnto Zedekiah ye king of Iudah,

And commande them to saye vnto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say vnto your masters,

I haue made the earth, the man, and the beast that are vpon the groud, by my great power, and by my outstreched arme, and haue giuen it vnto whom it pleased me.

But nowe I haue giuen all these landes into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and the beastes of the fielde haue I also giuen him to serue him.

And all nations shall serue him, and his sonne, and his sonnes sonne vntill the very time of his lande come also: then many nations and great Kinges shall serue themselues of him.

And the nation and kingdome which will not serue the same Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel, and that will not put their necke vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, the same nation will I visite, saith the Lord, with the sworde, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, vntill I haue wholy giuen them into his hands.

Therefore heare not your prophets nor your southsayers, nor your dreamers, nor your inchanters, nor your sorcerers, which say vnto you thus, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel.

For they prophecie a lie vnto you to cause you to goe farre from your lande, and that I should cast you out, and you should perish.

But the nation that put their neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him, those wil I let remaine stil in their owne land, saith the Lord, and they shall occupie it, and dwel therein.

I spake also to Zedekiah king of Iudah according to all these wordes, saying, Put your neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him and his people, that ye may liue.

Why will ye dye, thou, and thy people by the sworde, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation, that will not serue the King of Babel?

Therefore heare not the words of the prophets, that speake vnto you, saying, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel: for they prophecie a lie vnto you.

For I haue not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophecie a lie in my name, that I might cast you out, and that ye might perish, both you, and the prophets that prophecie vnto you.

Also I spake to the Priests, and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Heare not the wordes of your prophets that prophecie vnto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall nowe shortly be brought againe from Babel, for they prophecie a lie vnto you.

Heare them not, but serue the King of Babel, that ye may liue: wherefore shoulde this citie be desolate?

But if they be Prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them intreate the Lord of hostes, that the vessels, which are left in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem, go not to Babel.

For thus saith the Lord of hostes, concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remaine in this citie,

Which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel tooke not, when he caryed away captiue Ieconiah the sonne of Iehoiakim King of Iudah from Ierusalem to Babel, with all the nobles of Iudah and Ierusalem.

For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remaine in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem,

They shall be brought to Babel, and there they shalbe vntil the day that I visite them, saith the Lord: then will I bring them vp, and restore them vnto this place.

Das Symbol der Bande und Joche

Im Anfange der Regierung Joakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda, erging dieses Wort an Jeremias vom Herrn also:

So spricht der Herr zu mir: Mache dir Bande und Ketten und lege sie um deinen Nacken.

Und sende dieselben an den König von Edom und an den König von Moab und an den König der Söhne Ammons und an den König von Tyrus und an den König von Sidon, durch die Boten, welche nach Jerusalem zu Sedekias, dem Könige von Juda, gekommen sind.

Und trage ihnen auf, ihren Gebietern zu sagen: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Also saget zu euern Gebietern:

Ich habe die Erde, die Menschen und die Tiere, welche auf dem Erdboden leben, durch meine große Kraft und meinen ausgestreckten Arm erschaffen und ich gebe die Erde, wem es wohlgefällig ist in meinen Augen.

Nunmehr aber gebe ich alle diese Länder in die Hand Nabuchodonosors, des Königs von Babylon, meines Knechtes; selbst die Tiere des Feldes gebe ich ihm, dass sie ihm dienstbar seien.

Und alle Völker sollen ihm und seinem Sohne und seinem Sohnessohne dienstbar sein, bis auch seine und seines Landes Zeit kommt, und viele Völker und große Könige sollen ihm dienstbar sein.

Dasjenige Volk und Reich aber, das Nabuchodonosor, dem Könige von Babylon, nicht dienen will und wer immer seinen Hals nicht unter das Joch des Königs von Babylon beugt, mit Schwert und Hunger und Pest werde ich ein solches Volk heimsuchen, spricht der Herr, bis ich sie durch seine Hand vertilgt habe.

Höret also nicht auf eure Propheten und Wahrsager und Träumer und Zeichendeuter und Zauberer, welche zu euch sagen: Ihr werdet dem Könige von Babylon nicht dienstbar werden,

denn sie weissagen euch Lüge, um euch aus euerm Lande zu entfernen und euch hinauszustoßen, dass ihr umkommet.

Das Volk aber, das seinen Nacken unter das Joch des Königs von Babylon beugt und ihm dienstbar wird, will ich in seinem Lande lassen, spricht der Herr, und es soll dasselbe bewohnen und es bebauen.

Auch zu Sedekias, dem Könige von Juda, habe ich ganz auf dieselbe Weise gesprochen: Beuget euern Hals unter das Joch des Königs von Babylon und werdet ihm und seinem Volke dienstbar, so werdet ihr am Leben bleiben.

Warum wollt ihr sterben, du und dein Volk, durch Schwert, Hunger und Pest, so wie der Herr über das Volk gesprochen, welches dem Könige von Babylon nicht dienstbar sein will?

Höret nicht auf die Worte der Propheten, welche zu euch sprechen: Ihr werdet dem Könige von Babylon nicht dienstbar werden, denn sie weissagen euch Lüge.

Denn ich habe sie nicht gesandt, spricht der Herr, sondern sie weissagen trügerisch in meinem Namen, damit sie euch forttreiben und ihr zugrunde gehet, samt den Propheten, welche euch weissagen.

Auch zu den Priestern und zu diesem Volke redete ich also: So spricht der Herr: Höret nicht auf die Worte eurer Propheten, die euch weissagen und sprechen: Sehet, die Geräte des Herrn werden nun bald aus Babylon zurückkehren, denn sie weissagen euch Lüge.

Höret also nicht auf sie, sondern werdet dem Könige von Babylon dienstbar, damit ihr am Leben bleibet. Warum sollte diese Stadt zur Wüstenei werden?

Sind sie aber Propheten und ist das Wort des Herrn mit ihnen, so mögen sie hintreten vor das Angesicht des Herrn der Heerscharen, dass die Geräte, die im Hause des Herrn und im Hause des Königs von Juda und zu Jerusalem noch übriggeblieben sind, nicht nach Babylon kommen.

Denn so spricht der Herr der Heerscharen über die Säulen und über das Meer und die Gestelle und über die übrigen Geräte, welche in dieser Stadt zurückgeblieben sind

und welche Nabuchodonosor, der König von Babylon, nicht weggenommen hat, als er Jechonias, den Sohn Joakims, den König von Juda und alle Vornehmen von Juda und Jerusalem von Jerusalem nach Babylon wegführte;

ja, so spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, über die Geräte, welche im Hause des Herrn und im Hause des Königs von Juda und Jerusalem übriggeblieben sind:

Nach Babylon sollen sie gebracht werden und daselbst bleiben bis auf den Tag, da ich wieder nach ihnen sehe, spricht der Herr, und sie herbringe und wieder an diesen Ort zurückführen lasse.
