- Kapitel 19 -

(Numbers 5:5–10)

Now when Iesus entred and passed through Iericho,

Beholde, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chiefe receiuer of the tribute, and he was riche.

And he sought to see Iesus, who hee should be, and coulde not for the preasse, because he was of a lowe stature.

Wherefore he ranne before, and climed vp into a wilde figge tree, that he might see him: for he should come that way.

And when Iesus came to the place, he looked vp, and saw him, and said vnto him, Zaccheus, come downe at once: for to day I must abide at thine house.

Then he came downe hastily, and receiued him ioyfully.

And when all they sawe it, they murmured, saying, that hee was gone in to lodge with a sinfull man.

And Zaccheus stood forth, and said vnto the Lord, Beholde, Lord, the halfe of my goods I giue to the poore: and if I haue taken from any man by forged cauillation, I restore him foure folde.

Then Iesus said to him, This day is saluation come vnto this house, forasmuch as hee is also become the sonne of Abraham.

For the Sonne of man is come to seeke, and to saue that which was lost.

The Parable of the Ten Minas

(Matthew 25:14–30)

And whiles they heard these thinges, hee continued and spake a parable, because hee was neere to Hierusalem, and because also they thought that the kingdom of God should shortly appeare.

He saide therefore, A certaine noble man went into a farre countrey, to receiue for himselfe a kingdome, and so to come againe.

And he called his ten seruants, and deliuered them ten pieces of money, and sayd vnto them, Occupie till I come.

Nowe his citizens hated him, and sent an ambassage after him, saying, We will not haue this man to reigne ouer vs.

And it came to passe, when hee was come againe, and had receiued his kingdome, that he commanded the seruants to be called to him, to whome he gaue his money, that he might knowe what euery man had gained.

Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased ten pieces.

And he sayd vnto him, Well, good seruant: because thou hast bene faithfull in a very litle thing, take thou authoritie ouer ten cities.

And the second came, saying, Lord, thy piece hath encreased fiue pieces.

And to the same he sayd, Be thou also ruler ouer fiue cities.

So the other came, and sayd, Lord, beholde thy piece, which I haue laide vp in a napkin:

For I feared thee, because thou art a straight man: thou takest vp, that thou layedst not downe, and reapest that thou diddest not sowe.

Then he sayde vnto him, Of thine owne mouth will I iudge thee, O euill seruant. Thou knewest that I am a straight man, taking vp that I layd not downe, and reaping that I did not sowe.

Wherefore then gauest not thou my money into the banke, that at my coming I might haue required it with vantage?

And he sayd to them that stoode by, Take from him that piece, and giue it him that hath ten pieces.

(And they sayd vnto him, Lord, hee hath ten pieces.)

For I say vnto you, that vnto all them that haue, it shalbe giuen: and from him that hath not, euen that he hath, shalbe taken from him.

Moreouer, those mine enemies, which would not that I should reigne ouer them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

The Triumphal Entry

(Zechariah 9:9–13; Matthew 21:1–11; Mark 11:1–11; John 12:12–19)

And when he had thus spoken, he went forth before, ascending vp to Hierusalem.

And it came to passe, when hee was come neere to Bethphage, and Bethania, besides the mount which is called the mount of Oliues, he sent two of his disciples,

Saying, Goe ye to the towne which is before you, wherein, assoone as ye are come, ye shall finde a colte tied, whereon neuer man sate: loose him, and bring him hither.

And if any man aske you, why ye loose him, thus shall ye say vnto him, Because the Lord hath neede of him.

So they that were sent, went their way, and found it as he had sayd vnto them.

And as they were loosing the colte, the owners thereof sayd vnto them, Why loose ye the colte?

And they sayd, The Lord hath neede of him.

So they brought him to Iesus, and they cast their garments on the colte, and set Iesus thereon.

And as he went, they spred their clothes in the way.

And when he was nowe come neere to the going downe of the mount of Oliues, the whole multitude of the disciples began to reioyce, and to prayse God with a loude voyce, for all the great workes that they had seene,

Saying, Blessed be the King that commeth in the Name of the Lord: peace in heauen, and glory in the highest places.

Then some of the Pharises of the companie sayd vnto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

But he answered, and sayd vnto them, I tell you, that if these should holde their peace, the stones would crie.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem

(Isaiah 29:1–16)

And when he was come neere, he behelde the Citie, and wept for it,

Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes.

For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side,

And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

(Matthew 21:12–17; Mark 11:15–19; John 2:12–25)

He went also into the Temple, and began to cast out them that solde therein, and them that bought,

Saying vnto them, It is written, Mine house is the house of prayer, but ye haue made it a denne of theeues.

And he taught dayly in the Temple. And the hie Priests and the Scribes, and the chiefe of the people sought to destroy him.

But they could not finde what they might doe to him: for all the people hanged vpon him when they heard him.

Jesus kommt in das Haus des Zachäus

(4. Mose 5,5-10)

Und er zog ein in Jericho und ging hindurch.

Und siehe, ein Mann war da, mit Namen Zachäus; dieser war ein Oberzöllner und reich.

Und er suchte Jesus zu sehen, wer er sei; aber er konnte es nicht vor dem Volke, denn er war klein von Gestalt.

Da lief er voraus, und stieg auf einen Maulbeerfeigenbaum, um ihn zu sehen; denn da sollte er vorübergehen.

Als nun Jesus an den Ort kam, schaute er hinauf, sah ihn an, und sprach zu ihm: Zachäus! steige eilends herab; denn heute muss ich in deinem Hause bleiben.

Und er stieg eilends herab, und nahm ihn mit Freuden auf.

Und alle, welche dies sahen, murrten, und sprachen: Bei einem Sünder ist er eingekehrt!

Zachäus aber trat hin, und sprach zu dem Herrn: Siehe, Herr! Die Hälfte meiner Güter gebe ich den Armen; und wenn ich jemanden betrogen habe, so erstatte ich es vierfach.

Jesus sprach zu ihm: Heute ist diesem Hause Heil widerfahren deshalb, weil auch er ein Sohn Abrahams ist;

denn der Menschensohn ist gekommen zu suchen, und selig zu machen, was verloren war.

Das Gleichnis von den Minen

(Matthäus 25,14-30)

Als sie dies hörten, fuhr er fort, und trug ein Gleichnis vor, weil er nahe bei Jerusalem war, und sie meinten, das Reich Gottes werde sogleich offenbar werden.

Er sprach also: Ein vornehmer Mann zog in ein fremdes Land, ein Königreich für sich zu erhalten, und zurückzukehren.

Er rief aber seine zehn Knechte, und gab ihnen zehn Pfunde, und sprach zu ihnen: Treibet Geschäfte, bis ich wiederkomme!

Seine Bürger aber hassten ihn, und schickten eine Gesandtschaft nach, und ließen ihm sagen: Wir wollen nicht, dass dieser über uns König sei!

Und es geschah, dass er wiederkam, nachdem er das Königtum erhalten hatte. Da ließ er die Knechte, denen er das Geld gegeben hatte, rufen, damit er wüsste, wieviel ein jeder sich erhandelt hätte.

Es kam nun der erste, und sprach: Herr! Dein Pfund hat zehn Pfunde dazu erworben.

Er sprach zu ihm: Wohlan, du guter Knecht! Weil du im Geringen treu gewesen bist, sollst du Machthaber über zehn Städte sein.

Und es kam der zweite, und sprach: Herr! Dein Pfund hat fünf Pfunde getragen.

Er sprach auch zu diesem: So sollst auch du über fünf Städte gesetzt sein!

Der andere aber kam, und sprach: Herr! Da ist dein Pfund, ich habe es in einem Schweißtuche aufbewahrt gehalten,

denn ich fürchtete dich, weil du ein harter Mann bist. Du nimmst, was du nicht hingelegt hast, und erntest, was du nicht gesäet hast.

Er sagte zu ihm: Aus deinem Munde richte ich dich, du böser Knecht! Du wusstest, dass ich ein harter Mann bin, dass ich nehme, was ich nicht hingelegt, und ernte, was ich nicht gesäet habe.

Warum hast du mein Geld nicht auf die Wechselbank gegeben, damit ich es doch bei meiner Ankunft mit Gewinn hätte einfordern können?

Und er sprach zu den Umstehenden: Nehmet ihm das Pfund, und gebet es dem, welcher die zehn Pfunde hat!

Sie sprachen zu ihm: Herr! Er hat zehn Pfunde.

Ja, ich sage euch: Einem jeden, der hat, wird gegeben, und er wird im Überflusse haben; dem aber, welcher nicht hat, wird auch das genommen werden, was er hat.

Jedoch meine Feinde, jene, die nicht wollten, dass ich über sie König sein sollte, bringet herbei, und tötet sie vor mir!

Der triumphale Einzug

(Sacharja 9,9-13; Matthäus 21,1-11; Markus 11,1-11; Johannes 12,12-19)

Und nachdem er dieses gesagt hatte, schritt er voraus, nach Jerusalem hinaufgehend.

Und es geschah, als er sich Bethphage und Bethania näherte, an dem Berge, welcher Ölberg genannt wird, sandte er zwei seiner Jünger ab,

und sprach: Gehet in den Flecken, der gegenüber liegt; und wenn ihr hineinkommet, werdet ihr ein Füllen einer Eselin, auf welchem noch kein Mensch gesessen ist, angebunden finden; bindet es los, und führet es hierher!

Und wenn euch jemand fragt: Warum bindet ihr es los? So saget also zu ihm: Der Herr begehrt dessen Dienst.

Da gingen die, welche abgesandt waren, fort; und sie fanden das Füllen dastehen, wie er ihnen gesagt.

Als sie aber das Füllen losbanden, sagten dessen Eigentümer zu ihnen: Warum bindet ihr das Füllen los?

Sie aber sprachen: Der Herr bedarf seiner.

Und sie führten es zu Jesus, und warfen ihre Oberkleider auf das Füllen, und setzten Jesus darauf.

Da er nun fortzog, bereiteten sie ihre Kleider auf den Weg.

Und als er sich schon dem Abhange des Ölberges näherte, begann die gesamte Schar der Jünger, mit Freuden und mit lauter Stimme Gott zu loben wegen all der Wunderwerke, die sie gesehen hatten;

indem sie sprachen: Hochgelobt sei, der da kommt im Namen des Herrn; Friede im Himmel und Ehre in der Höhe!

Und einige Pharisäer, die unter dem Volke waren, sprachen zu ihm: Meister! Verweise es deinen Jüngern.

Er sprach zu ihnen: Ich sage euch, wenn diese schweigen, so werden die Steine schreien!

Jesus weint über Jerusalem

(Jesaja 29,1-16)

Und als er nahe gekommen war, und die Stadt sah, weinte er über dieselbe, und sprach:

Wenn doch auch du es erkannt hättest, und zwar an diesem deinem Tage, was dir zum Frieden dient; nun aber ist es vor deinen Augen verborgen!

Denn es werden Tage über dich kommen, da deine Feinde dich mit einem Walle umgeben, dich ringsum einschließen, und dich von allen Seiten einengen werden.

Sie werden dich und deine Kinder, die in dir sind, zu Boden schmettern, und werden in dir keinen Stein auf den andern lassen deshalb, weil du die Zeit deiner Heimsuchung nicht erkannt hast.

Jesus säubert den Tempel

(Matthäus 21,12-17; Markus 11,15-19; Johannes 2,12-25)

Und als er in den Tempel eingetreten war, fing er an, die Käufer und Verkäufer, die in demselben waren, hinauszutreiben,

und sprach zu ihnen: Es steht geschrieben: Mein Haus ist ein Haus des Gebetes, ihr aber habt es zu einer Räuberhöhle gemacht!

Und er lehrte täglich im Tempel. Aber die Hohenpriester, die Schriftgelehrten und Vornehmsten des Volkes suchten ihn zu verderben,

und fanden nicht, was sie ihm antun sollten; denn das ganze Volk hing an ihm, und hörte auf ihn.
