- Kapitel 20 -

The day of calamity

To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:

Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.

Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. Selah:

And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:

That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.

Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.

Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.

Der Tag des Unheils

Zum Ende, ein Psalm Davids.

Der Herr erhöre dich am Tage der Trübsal, es schirme dich der Name des Gottes Jakobs.

Er sende dir Hilfe aus dem Heiligtume und beschütze dich von Sion aus.

Er gedenke all deiner Speiseopfer und dein Brandopfer erfinde er fett.

Er gebe dir, was dein Herz wünscht, und lasse all dein Vorhaben gelingen.

Ob deines Heiles werden wir uns freuen und uns rühmen des Namens unsers Gottes.

Der Herr erfülle all dein Begehren! Nun weiß ich, dass der Herr seinem Gesalbten hilft; er wird ihn erhören von seinem heiligen Himmel her, denn mächtig ist die Hilfe seiner Rechten.

Diese vertrauen auf Wagen und jene auf Rosse, wir aber rufen den Namen des Herrn, unsers Gottes, an.

Sie verstricken sich und fallen, wir aber erheben uns und stehen aufrecht.

O Herr! hilf dem Könige und erhöre uns am Tage, da wir zu dir rufen.
