The Prophet Zechariah

- Kapitel 6 -

Againe, I turned and lift vp mine eyes, and looked: and beholde, there came foure charets out from betweene two mountaines, and the mountaines were mountaines of brasse.

In the first charet were red horses, and in the second charet blacke horses,

And in the thirde charet white horses, and in the fourth charet, horses of diuers colours, and reddish.

Then I answered, and saide vnto the Angell that talked with mee, What are these, my Lord?

And the Angell answered, and sayde vnto mee, These are the foure spirites of the heauen, which goe foorth from standing with the Lord of all the earth.

That with the blacke horse went forth into the land of the North, and the white went out after them, and they of diuers colours went forth toward the South countrey.

And the reddish went out, and required to go, and passe through the world, and he sayde, Goe passe through the worlde. So they went thorowout the world.

Then cryed hee vpon me, and spake vnto me, saying, Beholde, these that goe towarde the North countrey, haue pacified my spirit in the North countrey.

The Crown and the Temple

And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

Take of them of ye captiuitie, euen of Heldai, and of Tobijah, and Iedaiah, which are come from Babel, and come thou the same day, and goe vnto the house of Ioshiah, the sonne of Zephaniah.

Take euen siluer, and golde, and make crownes, and set them vpon the head of Iehoshua, the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest,

And speake vnto him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, and sayth, Behold the man whose name is the Branch, and he shall growe vp out of his place, and he shall build the Temple of the Lord.

Euen hee shall build the Temple of the Lord, and he shall beare the glory, and shall sit and rule vpon his throne, and he shalbe a Priest vpon his throne, and the counsell of peace shall be betweene them both.

And the crownes shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Iedaiah, and to Hen the sonne of Zephaniah, for a memoriall in the Temple of the Lord.

And they that are farre off, shall come and build in the Temple of the Lord, and ye shall know, that the Lord of hostes hath sent me vnto you. And this shall come to passe, if ye will obey the voyce of the Lord your God.

Vision von den vier Wagen

Wiederum erhob ich meine Augen und schaute: siehe, da erschienen vier Wagen zwischen den beiden Bergen, die Berge aber waren Berge von Erz.

Am ersten Wagen waren rote Rosse und am zweiten Wagen schwarze Rosse

und am dritten Wagen weiße Rosse und am vierten Wagen gefleckte, starke Rosse.

Da hob ich an und sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Was ist dies, Herr?

Der Engel antwortete und sprach zu mir: Dies sind die vier Winde des Himmels; sie ziehen aus, um sich vor dem Herrscher der ganzen Erde zu stellen.

Woran die schwarzen Rosse waren, diese ziehen nach dem Lande gegen Mitternacht und die weißen folgen ihnen; die gefleckten zogen nach dem Lande gegen Mittag.

Die aber die stärksten waren, zogen aus und schickten sich an zu gehen und die ganze Erde zu durchstreifen. Da sprach er: Gehet, durchstreifet die Erde! Und sie durchstreiften die Erde.

Dann rief er mich und sprach zu mir also: Siehe, die, welche nach dem Lande gegen Mitternacht ausziehen, besänftigen meinen Zorn an dem Lande gegen Mitternacht.

Der Befehl zur Krönung Josuas

Und es erging das Wort des Herrn an mich also:

Nimm von den Übergesiedelten, von Holdai, von Tobias und von Idajas; dann komm an jenem Tage und gehe in das Haus des Josias, des Sohnes Sophonias, welche von Babylon gekommen sind,

und nimm Gold und Silber und mache Kronen, darauf setze sie Jesus, dem Sohne Josedeks, dem Hohenpriester, auf das Haupt

und sprich zu ihm also: So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Siehe ein Mann, Spross ist sein Name, unter ihm wird es sprossen und er wird dem Herrn den Tempel bauen.

Er wird dem Herrn den Tempel aufrichten, er wird die Herrlichkeit tragen und auf seinen Thron sich setzen und herrschen und er wird Priester sein auf seinem Throne und Ratschluss des Friedens wird zwischen ihnen beiden bestehen.

Die Kronen aber sollen Helem, Tobias, Idajas und Hem, dem Sohne Sophonias, zum Andenken dienen im Tempel des Herrn.

Da werden die, welche in der Ferne sind, kommen und an dem Tempel des Herrn bauen und ihr werdet erkennen, dass der Herr der Heerscharen mich zu euch gesandt hat. So wird es geschehen, wenn ihr der Stimme des Herrn, eures Gottes, Gehör gebt.
