The sonnes of Leui were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

And the sonnes of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Vzziel.

And the children of Amram, Aaron, and Moses and Miriam. And the sonnes of Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

Eleazar begate Phinehas. Phinehas begate Abishua,
5
And Abishua begate Bukki, and Bukki begate Vzzi,
6
And Vzzi begate Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begate Meraioth.
7
Meraioth begate Amariah, and Amariah begate Ahitub,
8
And Ahitub begate Zadok, and Zadok begate Ahimaaz,
9
And Ahimaaz begate Azariah, and Azariah begate Iohanan,
10
And Iohanan begate Azariah (it was hee that was Priest in the house that Salomon built in Ierusalem)

And Azariah begate Amariah, and Amariah begate Ahitub,
12
And Ahitub begate Zadok, and Zadok begate Shallum,
13
And Shallum begate Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begate Azariah,

And Azariah begate Seraiah, and Seraiah begate Iehozadak,

And Iehozadak departed when the Lord caried away into captiuitie Iudah and Ierusalem by the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar.

The sonnes of Leui were Gershom, Kohath and Merari.

And these be the names of the sonnes of Gershom, Libni, and Shimei.

And the sonnes of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron and Vzziel.

The sonnes of Merari, Mahli and Mushi: and these are the families of Leui concerning their fathers.

Of Gershom, Libni his sonne, Iahath his sonne, Zimmah his sonne,

Ioah his sonne, Iddo his sonne, Zerah his sonne, Ieaterai his sonne.

The sonnes of Kohath, Aminadab his sonne, Korah his sonne, Assir his sonne,
23
Elkanah his sonne, and Ebiasaph his sonne, and Assir his sonne,
24
Tahath his sonne, Vriel his sonne, Vzziah his sonne, and Shaul his sonne,
25
And the sonnes of Elkanah, Amasai, and Ahimoth.

Elkanah. the sonnes of Elkanah, Zophai his sonne, and Nahath his sonne,
27
Eliab his sonne, Ieroham his sonne, Elkanah his sonne,
28
And the sonnes of Shemuel, the eldest Vashni, then Abiah.

The sonnes of Merari were Mahli, Libni his sonne, Shimei his sonne, Vzzah his sonne,

Shimea his sonne, Haggiah his sonne, Asaiah his sonne.

The Temple Musicians

And these be they whom Dauid set for to sing in the house of the Lord, after that the Arke had rest.

And they ministred before the Tabernacle, euen the Tabernacle of the Congregation with singing, vntill Salomon had built ye house of the Lord in Ierusalem: then they continued in their office, according to their custome.

And these ministred with their children: of the sonnes of Kohath, Heman a singer, the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Shemuel,

The sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Ieroham, the sonne of Eliel, the sonne of Toah,
35
The sonne of Zuph, the sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Mahath, the sonne of Amasai,
36
The sonne of Elkanah, the sonne of Ioel, the sonne of Azariah, the sonne of Zephaniah,
37
The sonne of Tahath, the sonne of Assir, the sonne of Ebiasaph, the sonne of Korah,
38
The sonne of Izhar, the sonne of Kohath, the sonne of Leui, the sonne of Israel.
39
And his brother Asaph stoode on his right hand: and Asaph was the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Shimea,
40
The sonne of Michael, the sonne of Baaseiah, the sonne of Malchiah,
41
The sonne of Ethni, the sonne of Zerah, the sonne of Adaiah,
42
The sonne of Ethan, the sonne of Zimmah, the sonne of Shimei,
43
The sonne of Iahath, the sonne of Gershom, the sonne of Leui.

And their brethren the sonnes of Merari were on the left hand, euen Ethan the sonne of Kishi, the sonne of Abdi, the sonne of Malluch,
45
The sonne of Hashabiah, the sonne of Amaziah, the sonne of Hilkiah,
46
The sonne of Amzi, the sonne of Bani, the sonne of Shamer,
47
The sonne of Mahli, the sonne of Mushi, the sonne of Merari, the sonne of Leui.

The Descendants of Aaron

And their brethren the Leuites were appointed vnto all the seruice of the Tabernacle of the house of God,
49
But Aaron and his sonnes burnt incense vpon the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all that was to do in the most holy place, and to make an atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the seruant of God had commanded.
50
These are also the sonnes of Aaron, Eleazar his sonne, Phinehas his sonne, Abishua his sonne,
51
Bukki his sonne, Vzzi his sonne, Zerahiah his sonne,
52
Meraioth his sonne, Amariah his sonne, Ahitub his sonne,
53
Zadok his sonne, and Ahimaaz his sonne.

Territories for the Levites

(Numbers 35:1–8; Joshua 21:1–45)

And these are the dwelling places of them throughout their townes and coastes, euen of the sonnes of Aaron for the familie of the Kohathites, for the lot was theirs.

So they gaue them Hebron in the lande of Iudah and the suburbes thereof rounde about it.
56
But the fielde of the citie, and the villages thereof they gaue to Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh.
57
And to the sonnes of Aaron they gaue the cities of Iudah for refuge, euen Hebron and Libna with their suburbes, and Iattir, and Eshtemoa with their suburbes,
58
And Hilen with her suburbes, and Debir with her suburbes,
59
And Ashan and her suburbes, and Bethshemesh and her suburbes:
60
And of the tribe of Beniamin, Geba and her suburbes, and Alemeth with her suburbes, and Anathoth with her suburbes: all their cities were thirteene cities by their families.
61
And vnto the sonnes of Kohath the remnant of the familie of the tribe, euen of the halfe tribe of the halfe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities.
62
And to the sonnes of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteene cities.

Vnto the sonnes of Merari according to their families out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, by lot twelue cities.
64
Thus the children of Israel gaue to the Leuites cities with their suburbes.
65
And they gaue by lot out of the tribe of the children of Iudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Beniamin, these cities, which they called by their names.
66
And they of the families of the sonnes of Kohath, had cities and their coastes out of the tribe of Ephraim.
67
And they gaue vnto them cities of refuge, Shechem in mount Ephraim, and her suburbes, and Gezer and her suburbes,
68
Iokmeam also and her suburbes, and Bethhoron with her suburbes,
69
And Aialon and her suburbes, and Gath Rimmon and her suburbes,
70
And out of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Aner and her suburbes, and Bileam and her suburbes, for the families of the remnant of the sonnes of Kohath.

Vnto the sonnes of Gershom out of the familie of the halfe tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan, and her suburbes, and Ashtaroth with her suburbes,
72
And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh and her suburbes, Daberath and her suburbes,
73
Ramoth also and her suburbes, and Anem with her suburbes,
74
And out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal and her suburbes, and Abdon and her suburbes,
75
And Hukok and her suburbs, and Rehob and her suburbes,
76
And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilea and her suburbes, and Hammon and her suburbes, and Kiriathaim and her suburbes.

Vnto the rest of the children of Merari were giuen out of ye tribe of Zebulun Rimmon and her suburbes, Tabor and her suburbes,
78
And on the other side Iorden by Iericho, euen on the Eastside of Iorden, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wildernesse with her suburbes, and Iahzah with her suburbes,
79
And Kedemoth with her suburbes, and Mephaath with her suburbes,
80
And out of the tribe of Gad Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbes, and Mahanaim with her suburbes,
81
And Heshbon with her suburbes, and Iaazer with her suburbes.

Die Söhne Amrams: Aaron, Moses und Maria; die Söhne Aarons. Nadab, Abiu, Eleazar und Ithamar.

Eleazar zeugte den Phinees und Phinees zeugte Abisue,
5
Abisue aber zeugte Bokki und Bokki zeugte Ozi.
6
Ozi zeugte Zarajas und Zarajas zeugte Merajoth.
7
Merajoth sodann zeugte Amarias und Amarias zeugte Achitob.
8
Achitob zeugte Sadok und Sadok zeugte Achimaas,
9
Achimaas zeugte Azarias, Azarias zeugte Johanan,

Johanan zeugte Azarias: dieser ist es, welcher das Priestertum in dem Hause verwaltete, welches Salomon zu Jerusalem erbaut hatte.

Azarias aber zeugte Amarias und Amarias zeugte Achitob,
12
Achitob zeugte Sadok und Sadok zeugte Sellum,
13
Sellum zeugte Helkias und Helkias zeugte Azarias,
14
Azarias zeugte Sarajas und Sarajas zeugte Josedek.

Josedek aber zog von dannen, als der Herr Juda und Jerusalem durch die Hand Nabuchodonosors wegführte.

Die Söhne Levis sind also: Gerson, Kaath und Merari.

Und dies sind die Namen der Söhne Gersons: Lobni und Semei.

Die Söhne Kaaths: Amram, Isaar, Hebron und Oziel.

Die Söhne Meraris: Moholi und Musi. Dies aber sind die Geschlechter Levis nach ihren Familien:

Gerson, dessen Sohn Lobni, dessen Sohn Jahath, dessen Sohn Zamma,

dessen Sohn Joah, dessen Sohn Addo, dessen Sohn Zara, dessen Sohn Jethrai.

Die Söhne Kaaths: Sein Sohn Aminadab, dessen Sohn Kore, dessen Sohn Asir,
23
dessen Sohn Elkana, dessen Sohn Abiasaph, dessen Sohn Asir;
24
dessen Sohn Thahath, dessen Sohn Uriel, dessen Sohn Ozias, dessen Sohn Saul.

Die Söhne Elkanas: Amasai, Achimoth
26
und Elkana. Die Söhne Elkanas: Sein Sohn Sophai, dessen Sohn Nabath,
27
dessen Sohn Eliab, dessen Sohn Jeroham, dessen Sohn Elkana.

Die Söhne Samuels: der Erstgeborne Vasseni und Abia.

Die Söhne Meraris aber Moholi: dessen Sohn Lobni, dessen Sohn Semei, dessen Sohn Oza,

dessen Sohn Sammaa, dessen Sohn Haggia, dessen Sohn Asaja.

Musikanten im Haus des HERRN

Diese sind es, welche David über die Sänger im Hause des Herrn setzte, nachdem die Lade an ihren Ort gebracht war,

und sie dienten vor dem Zelte des Zeugnisses als Sänger, bis Salomon das Haus des Herrn zu Jerusalem baute; sie taten aber Dienst nach ihrer Reihenfolge.
33
Dies aber sind die, welche mit ihren Söhnen Dienst taten: Von den Söhnen Kaaths: Hemam, der Sänger, der Sohn Johels, des Sohnes Samuels,
34
des Sohnes Elkanas, des Sohnes Jerohams, des Sohnes Eliels, des Sohnes Thohus,
35
des Sohnes Suphs, des Sohnes Elkanas, des Sohnes Mahaths, des Sohnes Amasais,
36
des Sohnes Elkanas, des Sohnes Johels, des Sohnes Azarias, des Sohnes Sophonias,
37
des Sohnes Thahaths, des Sohnes Asirs, des Sohnes Abiasaphs, des Sohnes Kores,
38
des Sohnes Isaars, des Sohnes Kaaths, des Sohnes Levis, des Sohnes Israels.

Und sein Bruder Asaph, der zu seiner Rechten stand, Asaph, der Sohn des Barachias, des Sohnes Samaas,
40
des Sohnes Michaels, des Sohnes Basajas, des Sohnes Melchias,
41
des Sohnes Athanais, des Sohnes Zaras, des Sohnes Adajas,
42
des Sohnes Ethans, des Sohnes Zammas, des Sohnes Semeis,
43
des Sohnes Jeths, des Sohnes Gersoms, des Sohnes Levis.

Und die Söhne Meraris, ihre Brüder, waren zur Linken: Ethan, der Sohn Kusis, des Sohnes Abdis, des Sohnes Malochs,
45
des Sohnes Hasabias, des Sohnes Amasias, des Sohnes Helkias,
46
des Sohnes Amasais, des Sohnes Bonis, des Sohnes Somers,
47
des Sohnes Moholis, des Sohnes Musis, des Sohnes Meraris, des Sohnes Levis.

Und ihre Brüder, die Leviten, waren für den gesamten Dienst am Zelte des Hauses des Herrn bestellt.

Das Geschlecht Aarons

Aaron aber und seine Söhne brachten die Opfer auf dem Brandopferaltar dar und auf dem Räucheraltar, zu allem Dienste am Allerheiligsten, und um für Israel zu beten, dem gemäß, was Moses, der Diener Gottes, geboten.

Dies aber sind die Söhne Aarons: Eleazar, sein Sohn, dessen Sohn Phinees, dessen Sohn Abisue,

dessen Sohn Bokki, dessen Sohn Ozi, dessen Sohn Zarahia,
52
dessen Sohn Merajoth, dessen Sohn Amarias, dessen Sohn Achitob,
53
dessen Sohn Sadok, dessen Sohn Achimaas.

Die Wohnstätten der Leviten

(4. Mose 35,1-8; Josua 21,1-45)

Und dies sind ihre Wohnsitze nach ihren Niederlassungen und Grenzen, der Söhne Aarons nämlich nach den Familien der Kaathiter, denn ihnen waren sie durch das Los zugefallen.

Ihnen hatte man Hebron im Lande Juda gegeben und seine Weideplätze ringsum;
56
die Äcker der Stadt aber und die Flecken gaben sie Kaleb, dem Sohne des Jephone.
57
Den Söhnen Aarons aber gaben sie die Zufluchtsstädte Hebron und Lobna und seine Weideplätze,
58
ebenso Jether und Esthemo samt ihren Weideplätzen, wie auch Helon und Dabir mit ihren Weideplätzen,
59
auch Asan und Bethsemes und ihre Weideplätze.
60
Vom Stamme Benjamin aber: Gabee und seine Weideplätze, Almath mit seinen Weideplätzen und Anathoth mit seinen Weideplätzen, zusammen dreizehn Städte nach ihren Familien.
61
Aber den übrigen Söhnen Kaaths von seinem Geschlechte gaben sie aus dem halben Stamme Manasse zehn Städte zum Besitze.
62
Den Söhnen Gersoms ferner nach ihren Familien vom Stamme Issachar und vom Stamme Aser und vom Stamme Nephthali und vom Stamme Manasse in Basan dreizehn Städte.
63
Den Söhnen Meraris aber gaben sie nach ihren Familien durch das Los vom Stamme Ruben und vom Stamme Gad und vom Stamme Zabulon zwölf Städte.
64
So gaben die Söhne Israels den Leviten die Städte samt deren Weideplätzen,
65
und zwar geben sie durch das Los vom Stamme der Söhne Judas und vom Stamme der Söhne Simeons und vom Stamme der Söhne Benjamins diese Städte, welche sie nach ihren Namen benannten;
66
denen, welche vom Geschlechte der Söhne Kaaths waren; diese hatten an ihren Grenzen Städte vom Stamme Ephraim.
67
Sie gaben ihnen also die Zufluchtsstädte Sichem mit seinen Weideplätzen auf dem Gebirge Ephraim und Gazer mit seinen Weideplätzen,
68
auch Jekmaam mit seinen Weideplätzen und ebenso Bethoron,
69
dazu Helon mit seinen Weideplätzen und Gethremmon gleicher Weise.
70
Ferner aus dem halben Stamme Manasse Aner und seine Weideplätze, Balaam und seine Weideplätze; denen nämlich, die vom Geschlechte der Söhne Kaaths übrig waren.

Den Söhnen Gersoms aber gaben sie aus dem Geschlechte das halben Stammes Manasse Gaulon in Basan und seine Weideplätze und Astharoth mit seinen Weideplätzen.

Aus dem Stamme Issachar: Kedes und seine Weideplätze und Dabereth mit seinen Weideplätzen;

auch Ramoth und seine Weideplätze und Anem und dessen Weideplätzen.

Aus dem Stamme Aser aber: Masal mit seinen Weideplätzen und ebenso Abdon,
75
und Hukak und seine Weideplätze und Rohob samt seinen Weideplätzen.

Aus dem Stamme Nephthali: Kedes in Galiläa und seine Weideplätze, Hamon mit seinen Weideplätzen und Kariathaim und seine Weideplätze.

Den übrigen Söhnen Meraris aber gaben sie aus dem Stamme Zabulon Remmono und seine Weideplätze und Thabor mit seinen Weideplätzen;

und jenseits des Jordans Jericho gegenüber im Osten des Jordans, aus dem Stamme Ruben Bosor in der Wüste mit seinen Weideplätzen und Jassa mit seinen Weideplätzen,

auch Kademoth und seine Weideplätze und Mephaat mit seinen Weideplätzen.

Dazu auch aus dem Stamme Gad: Ramoth in Galaad und seine Weideplätze und Mainaim mit seinen Weideplätzen,
81
wie auch Hesebon mit seinen Weideplätzen und Jezer mit seinen Weideplätzen.
