- Kapitel 5 -

(Psalm 110:1–7)

When God chooses a high priest, he selects a man from the people. This man must serve God for the people; he must give God gifts and sacrifice animals to him for the people’s sins.

A high priest can be gentle with those who know little about God and with those who sin against him. This is because the high priest himself is weak with sin.

As a result, he also must sacrifice animals, because he sins just like the people do.
4
But no one can honor himself by deciding to become the high priest. Instead, God chose each man to become a high priest, as he chose Aaron to be the first high priest.

Similarly, Messiah also did not honor himself by becoming high priest. Instead, God the Father appointed him by saying to him what the psalmist wrote in the scriptures: “You are my son! Today I have declared that I am your father!”

And he also said to Messiah what the psalmist wrote in another scripture passage: “You are a priest eternally in the way that Melchizedek was a priest.”

In the days when Messiah was living here in the world, he prayed to God and cried out loudly to him in tears. He asked God, who could save him from dying. And God listened to him, because Messiah honored him and obeyed him.

Although Messiah is God’s own son, he learned to obey God by suffering and dying.

By accomplishing everything that God wanted him to do, he has now become fully able to save eternally all who obey him.

God has designated him to be our high priest in the way that Melchizedek was a high priest.

Milk and Solid Food

(1 Corinthians 3:1–9)

I want to tell you much about the many ways in which Messiah resembles Melchizedek. This is hard for me to explain to you because you find it so difficult to understand.

You became Messianics long ago. So by now you should be teaching God’s truths to others. But you still need someone to teach you again the elementary truths of the words of God from the scriptures, starting from the beginning. You need those basic truths like babies need milk. You are not ready to learn more difficult things, things that are like the solid food that mature people need.

Remember that those who are still learning these elementary truths do not understand what God says about becoming righteous. Neither do they yet know right from wrong. They are just like babies who need milk!

But the more difficult spiritual truth is for people who know God better, just like solid food is for people who are adults. They can tell the difference between what is good and what is evil, because they have trained themselves by learning what is right and what is wrong.

Qualifikationen für das Hohepriestertum

(Psalm 110,1-7)

Denn jeder Hoherpriester wird als einer, der aus den Menschen genommen, für Menschen bestellt in ihren Angelegenheiten bei Gott, damit er Gaben und Opfer darbringe für die Sünden,
2
als einer der Mitleid zu haben vermag mit den Unwissenden und Irrenden, da er ja auch selbst mit Schwachheit umgeben ist;
3
und darum muss er, wie für das Volk, so auch für sich selbst Opfer darbringen für die Sünden.
4
Und niemand maßt sich selbst die Würde an, sondern wer von Gott berufen wird, wie Aaron.

Ein Priester für immer

So hat auch Christus nicht sich selbst verherrlicht, dass er Hoherpriester würde, sondern der, welcher zu ihm sprach: “Mein Sohn bist du, heute habe ich dich gezeugt!”

Wie er auch an einem anderen Orte sagt: “Du bist Priester in Ewigkeit nach der Ordnung Melchisedechs.“

Er, der in den Tagen seines Fleisches Gebet und Flehen mit starkem Geschrei und Tränen dem darbrachte, der ihn von dem Tode erretten konnte, ist erhört worden wegen seiner Ehrfurcht.
8
Und obwohl er der Sohn Gottes war, hat er aus dem, was er litt, Gehorsam gelernt,
9
und, zur Vollendung gebracht, ist er allen, die ihm gehorsam sind, Urheber des ewigen Heiles geworden,
10
von Gott Hoherpriester benannt nach der Ordnung Melchisedechs.
(1. Korinther 3,1-9)

Hierüber haben wir große Dinge zu sagen, die schwer zu erklären sind, weil ihr schwach geworden seid im Hören.

Geistliche Unreife

Denn während ihr der Zeit nach Lehrer sein solltet, habt ihr abermals nötig, dass euch gelehrt werde, welches die Anfangsgründe des Wortes Gottes seien; und ihr seid zu solchen geworden, die der Milch bedürfen, nicht fester Speise.

Denn jeder, der Milch erhält, ist unerfahren in der Lehre von der Gerechtigkeit, ist er doch unmündig.
14
Für Vollkommene aber ist die feste Speise, für die, welche durch die Gewöhnung geübte Sinne haben, Gutes und Böses zu unterscheiden.
